Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday.. Hosted by the Sweet & Lovely Georgia Hostess Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer. Each week on Wednesday we get to showcase some of our Outdoor Adventures from all over.. Hop on over to Susan’s and tag along with everyone.. You’ll be amazed at the beauty you’ll see!
This is one of Jeff’s little toys.. It’s called a Game Cam. Ashley gave him this for Christmas a few years ago and he loves it as much as I love my camera. You’re all about to see why…
He uses it to monitor things at a couple of his hunting camps.. Because it is an expensive lil toy he built a few of these nice secure boxes all around the property to house it in.. The secure boxes help shelter the Camera from the weather.. plus they make it harder for trespassers to walk off with them.
Each week Jeff goes out and removes the SIM card from the camera and replaces it with another cleared SIM card. Depending on what pictures he may or may not have captured on film from the previous week.. he may move the camera to another spot he wants to monitor with hopefully a bit more action.
Below are some images from his camp.. and some from others who use game cameras to monitor as well. Now these are all things you expect to see when using a game cam.. but imagine his surprise when last week he went to change out his card and found something inside his secured lil box… it’s not scary.. I promise.. you can look!
He found this all tucked neatly inside his camera box. What is it? Keep scrolling down..
Here’s a closer look..
Four Little Baby Birdie Eggs!! Not sure what kind.. but hopefully the same fate won’t fall upon these beauties as did the ones in our own yard last month. Take a look at this awesome nest…
I’ve tried to make the picture larger so you all can see all the neat things they used in making the nest. Yep that’s a snake skin… moss.. deer hair.. twigs.. pine needles.. you name it.. it’s in there.
Look how they were getting in and out.. lol that little hole is a welcome mat if ever I saw one. Jeff wasn’t to crazy about missing out on getting photos of his turkey movement over the next month .. while waiting for these lil guys hatch and go off on their own.. but there is where they’ll stay til they are.
He put everything back the way he found it.. In a few weeks I may go out with him on his next SIM card swap…Ummm wait it’s still summer .. still hot.. and deep down in the undisturbed shaded woods where snakes love to be… Umm on second thought Ashley did so well taking these photos.. We’ll just send her back with him!
Happy Wednesday Y’all
Big Ole Hugs,
