They are similar in many ways to
The American Girl series..
They too have their adventurous
tales of 1890 told through a
series of books written by: Sharla Whalen
We have a lot of wonderful memories
from these beauties.
They shared many tea parties..
sleep overs, fashion shows and
beauty parlor makeovers with Ashley.
Ashley is getting a bedroom makeover..
transition from preteen to junior teen.
As I packed these dolls away earlier
I admit I was a bit sad.
I just knew .. like so many
of the other "little kidish" things she didn't want around
any longer, that she'd tell me to give them to goodwill as well.
Imagine my surprise when she asked if there was room in
the attic to keep them for her to have when
she moves out.
I quickly ran upstairs grabbed their boxes
retagged them .. quickly took a few pics
then lovingly packed them
securely away..
hopefully for the next 10 years.
my addition to this weeks Show & Tell..
Don't forget to head back to Kelli's
for more wonderful treats.
What beautiful dolls.
ReplyDeleteI will keep your friend in prayer.
Hello Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat very special gifts those dolls are. I know how hard, and how wonderful all at the same time as as our daughters grow up can be. I am sure she will treasure her dolls for many years to come and even pass them on some day. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Smiles~Tam!

Hi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet another Debbie!
I love the dolls. I have many dolls and other things in my attic for my daughter to get some day. She's 28 now. Have things up there for my son too. Its like Toys R us up there!
Debbie J.
What special memories those dolls evoke. Glad she's keeping them. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful dolls. If they could only talk, all the stories they would tell:) I hope I will be able to do that for my daughter when she gets too old for her dolls. Thanks for joining in on Show and Tell Friday. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad transition time, and yet so thrilling at the same time. How is that possible? I don't know...it just is.
ReplyDeleteGetting ready to do the same thing in my son's room. I still remember picking out the most darling picture of a little boy's room with a sentiment written by his mother talking about what he would be like later. I remember thinking when I bought it how it would hurt to pull it off the wall when the time came. The time came last week. Still can't believe it.
Thank you for sharing your journey and these beautiful dolls. We'll be enjoying the next new and wonderful phase now. (And looking forward to getting these things back out for our grandkids. :) )
Hello, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dolls, as I am a collector of dolls, tell Ashley I am so glad she decided to keep them. She will get many more years of pleasure from them. Thank you for sharing.

Sue

Stopping by for Show and Tell. Such a beautiful doll collection! They are all so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe dolls are beautiful. If I had unlimited space I would collect them myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is how a family treasure comes to be...hold onto all the sweet memories you can...someday, there will be another little girl in the family who will cherish these dolls and who they once belonged to...
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Susie
