The Pole Santas
I haven't made these guys in years..
Ohhh the memories..
Many a nights spent in the garage
with Jeff as he cut out the
patterns for me.
He'd work all day.. then come
home and work late into the
night just for me and my lil hobby.
I made the first one for Ashley's
day care as a gift...
They put him at the front desk and
BOOM!
Over the next few years
that one sold me over 150 of 'em!

Nanette.. Thank You ! I saw a version of them at a craft show.. They had fabric hats and arms .. and they were only about 1 1/2 feet tall. At the time I didn't know how to sew.. so I drew out a pattern and played with it a bit and came up with what you see. I made mine alot larger .. They are 5 feet tall. Thank You for visiting.. I'm just getting the hang of this blog thing .. still a greenhorn at it.. I hope I'm responding correctly and hope that everyone is getting my responses to their comments. Again.. Thank You for visiting & Have A Blessed Day! Debbie

  5. Dear new blogger friend. I'm thrilled that you connected (followed...I should say) my blog. I couldn't let the time go buy without vising you and thanking you for being part of my blog friends. Did I tell you that Nie, Nie's plane went down in my town a few block away. Most of my family has lived here for generations and the scary part was that this amazing pilot was so giving, he saved not only the lives of Nie Nie and her husband by how and where he chose to take the plane down, but he also directed it in the middle of 2 homes, both of which are my relatives. One is my dear Uncle and Aunt, the other my cousin living in my Grandmothers home that he bought after she died. Terri his wife couldn't sleep for days for the explosion was ft away from her bedroom. The pilot then got out of the plane, burning on his whole body, got Nie Nie and her husband out before another neighbor ran and threw him to the ground and rolled him to get the flames out. He was still talking and asking how everyone was, was everyone safe prior to them loading him on the airvac plane. Moments after the med plane took off, it was obvious his strength was gone and he would die. What an amazing fellow. He left a beautiful family behind. Nie Nie and her husband have had family step in and this is truly a story of love, including the blogland that came together to aid and comfort her family. We do have good people in this world. I really am grateful to get to know you. I will keep up on your blog. All my best wishs for happy holidays. I'm going to really try to focus on giving service and thanks to all around me. I know this is what the Saviour would do and what more can I give back at this beautiful time of year.
Nanette (you have a beautiful family)

  6. oh.... i'm not sure where you are from.... but I feel a kinship for some reason. I want you to know that if ever your little family and you need a break. I'm welcoming you. Our little community isn't much, but with my husband have terminal illness, I know that our little breaks away with family have been a blessing. We leave to go to The Grand Canyon Polar Express... (fantastic) this Thursday with some of our grandchildren. Though Ed has to take it easy, it's such a wonderful feeling to celerbrate with family and friends. I want to make sure we do some kind of service if nothing else, but to (i will make up cards) that say.... "you are special and I want you to know someone is thinking of you"... The children and adults watch for someone in need, (lady crossing the street, someone that needs an extra hand stepping up on the train), then we hand them the card. The joy we feel, and the look on my grandkids face as they see how that person;s face lights up is worth everything about Christmas. I wish you could go with us. All my love and prayers, Nanette
