It’s Outdoor Wednesday time .. Special Thanks to Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer for always hosting this fun weekly party. Please drop by and visit her and all those participating this week.
This is what I woke up too the other morning…
A Big ole mess… and nodda soul in sight.
That’s my mailbox laying there… I also have new neighbors across the street.. Thank God! That Aqua colored house was a victim of foreclosure earlier in the year.. and a victim to a color blind previous owner. It’s finally happy now soaking up it’s pretty new tan color. Let’s hope they work on removing that dead tree soon.
What is this mess.. well.. that’s what I was asking myself for over 3 hours as it sat there unattended.
When the nice guys from the Water Department returned from their “ lunch break” they told me they had to dig up all that to replace a small seal under the street that connected to a line across the street.
As they promised.. they covered it back up.. threw out some seed.. hoisted the mailbox back in it’s rightful place and left a huge Georgia red clay spot in the street.
Oh by the way… I did not encourage my child to climb up on this piece of machinery that did not belong to us.. nope no way no how did I beg and plead with her to do it so I could get a picture.. I also didn’t tell her that I had proof that she was trespassing after taking said begged for photo.
Hugs Y’all , Debbie
That is so funny. Love the red Georgia clay and so cute of your daughter to climb aboard! So sad about the foreclosure. Too many of those!

What? You didn't like the turquoise house? :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely dirt patch -- hopefully it's a good time of the year for grass to sprout in your neck of the woods!
Love the trespassing shot, too. Evidence. It's always good to have blackmail pics of your kids. Just a little insurance for the future, y'know?

Hi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add that. Amy is going to surgery Monday - August 10th. Yes we have a date. They are going to start feeding her tomorrow. The hospital care will be there first thing in the morning. Hyperal which is fed through the vein. This way there is no loss of the nutrients. I will be posting on Monday so you can be checking for all of the updates as the surgery goes along. I know they will come out and let Debbie know, and then she will be calling me. Thanks for asking. We are going to need prayers come Monday. Country Hugs and love, Sherry
Hi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteCute pic of the daughter and don't ya just love the street guys, not,oh well such is life! Hugs,Cindy
Hi Debbie! Well, I am glad the mystery was solved rather quckly... (You don't take 3 hour lunches?? lol)...and things put back in their place! I say if they park the darn stuff in your yard, it gives you property rights and pics are OK!! Happy OW!...Debbie
ReplyDeletehAAAHHHAA...great post and I love the photo of daughter on the evidence.
ReplyDeleteLOL great departure from the typical "flower" post... brought a smile to my face for sure.
ReplyDeleteLike others -- i agree-- never ever hurts to have a lil black mail on anyone. I frankly enjoy the baby pictures of bare bums myself :) "i think this would look great on my blog! dont you??... Ohhh you dont? wanna clean the bath room?" *wink wink*

Hi Debbie....
ReplyDeleteWow, what a mess for one small seal. I hope they put your mail box back the way it was.
Next week, we are getting drain pipes put in our front yard so there will be no more ditch. I can imagine what a mess that will be..
Hmmm...you are such a dedicated blogger. Recognizing a great post when you see it....sitting there just waiting for you right outside your home. What else could you do? And it definitely needed the personal touch of a daughter. For sure!

How hard is it to grow stuff in that red soil?
ReplyDeleteWe have spent half the summer with the works crews digging up our street. Starting at 7 a.m and leaving at 4 p.m.
Thank goodness they are finished.
glad that your neighborhood is getting spiffied up and think it is so funny that you are just like me and would never ask your child for a great photo op
ReplyDeleteFunny about the trespassing shot! I wonder what they do with the aiding and abetting person who took the shot? Hmmmm .... guess we will have to see! Ha!
ReplyDeleteThat was funny! You and your daughter both sound like a hoot! :)

ReplyDeleteYou are too funny. Your daughter is beautiful and such a kind daughter to 'not' listen to her mom's gentle nudgings.
ReplyDeleteI hope the grass soon grows back. It always is a surprise when life happens when we are making other plans!
Thanks for sharing the happenings on your street!
