Christmas Tea

Christmas Tea
Last night our Church held it's 3rd annual
Christmas Tea dinner.
Since this is our first Christmas at
Potters House... I decided I wouldn't
host a table this year.
Good decision ..
Cuz
These Ladies ROCK!
Hosting A Table...
Each table hostess is in charge of decorating
their own table and selling seats.
The cost of a seat... Only 10 Bucks!!
Just being able to sit at one of these beautifully decorated
tables itself was worth the $10...
BUT...
Our meal ... which consisted of
Turkey, Dressing, Green Beans, Mac & Cheese
Sweet Potato casserole and Red Velvet Cake, was
prepared and served by the gentlemen
in our Church.
That was priceless!
Our Pastor's Wife.. Sister Tina,
Ashley and Sister Barbara..
*The lil peek-a-boo on the bottom left corner.. that's Court
he is Sister Tina's son*
Our float found new life...
It was so sad seeing my float torn apart
after the parade.
*Sigh*
It had to be done...
Can't really store a 22 foot float with ease.
It came to life again last night transforming
the fellowship hall into a winter wonderland.
The Tables..
Hope you enjoy.. My photography skills don't
do them justice.

This Gold table was the Youth Table..
Hostess: Sister Ginger
Ashley had the honor of sitting at this beautiful table.

The pictures below are from
Sister Tina's table.. where I had the pleasure of
sitting. Again pictures didn't do it justice.
Who woulda thought pink and animal
print woulda been so beautiful.

Even after it was all over and the big lights came
on and napkins littered the table it was still beautiful...

Starting to look like Christmas...

Finally !
The Tree ! The Tree !
I actually found a few minutes to get
the tree up and finished.
*hand-clap*
It's one of those pre-lit rotating Martha Stewart trees.
Very simple to assemble .. only minutes to put it up.
The hard part is having the time to get all those
ornaments on.. so that's why
for the last 8 days it rotated all empty and bare.
Today it's happy & full of Christmas cheer.
Santa Bell Ornaments

Matthew's Ornament
Always added to the tree last.

Started on the Fireplace...
These are the Santas that Jeff bought for me
last year. Haven't quite decided on
where they'll go.. the fireplace mantle
is up to high and you can't really get a good view of 'em.
I'll snap a photo when I find the
perfect spot.

Festival of Trees
My friend Angela and I went to the
Festival of Trees
in Atlanta.
The picture below is of her front porch..
She used a lot of her kids toys for decorations..
It turned out so CUTE!

This is one of my favorite wreaths..
I have a thing for the Old Time Santas..

The Pole Santas
I haven't made these guys in years..
Ohhh the memories..
Many a nights spent in the garage
with Jeff as he cut out the
patterns for me.
He'd work all day.. then come
home and work late into the
night just for me and my lil hobby.
I made the first one for Ashley's
day care as a gift...
They put him at the front desk and
BOOM!
Over the next few years
that one sold me over 150 of 'em!

Black Friday

The Day-After Thanksgiving...
4:00 am.

We found our spot in front of Target at 4:00 am.
We were 14th & 15th in line.. a lil further back
than last year.. but we got the goods.
This year was a breeze compared to past
years. No gloves, blankets or heavy coats needed.
We managed to get in line behind the same man from
last year. He remembered us and also
remembered Ashley getting to
the electronics department way
ahead of everyone else too.
"She's A Champ"
Those lil legs can move!
I could never clear my list without her.
This is only my 5th year getting to shop on
Black Friday.. and the last
3 years I've made it a
"Just Me & Her" deal.
For 22 years I was a Jeweler and
worked retail.. So you know I
really hated this day lol.
The holidays were always a blur.. and I
was always to tired to enjoy them.
Soooooooo ..
The November that Matthew died I decided I'd had
enough of all that and I took that season off..
and ain't been back since.
